For Code for America’s 2012 fellowship, we need developers, designers, and entrepreneurs eager to make a difference and ready to step up to make government for open and efficient. And we need you to help us find them. You can do something as simple as a tweet or as fun as a party — we’ve even put together some tools to make it easy for you:
You’ve got a powerful microphone at your disposal with your social networks and blogs. Use it to start a conversation and spread the word. You can not only tell our story but also be a part of it.
→ Tweet it out or Share on Facebook
→ Write a blog or Post the job description
Know the universities, community organizations, NGOs, or technology companies in your city? Drop them a line or drop off some flyers to enlist them in recruiting their members for the fellowship.
→ Submit an op/ed to your local newspaper
→ Print off some of our flyers or binary posters
Finding the right applicant is more than important than finding a lot of them, and you can help by nominating a friend or sending them a note encouraging them to apply. Even a quick note makes a difference.
→ Nominate a potential fellow
→ Fire off a quick mail to a friend or two
You can’t discount the power of an in-person conversation. Host one. Or rather, host a bunch. A local meetup can not only spark a conversation about CfA but generate more interest in civic hacking.
→ Check out our hackathon/meetup guide
→ Register your event and put it on the cal
