Lauren Celenza (she/they)

Lauren is a multidisciplinary designer focused on shaping technology with care, access, and equity at the forefront. Her work and essays have appeared in Fast Company, Forbes, and In These Times. Before Code for America, she served as a Lead Designer for Google Maps and The World Resources Institute, leveraging participatory research and design to make maps, navigation, and land restoration technology inclusive and accessible across South America, Africa, and Asia. She also serves as an interview journalist for Unfinished, a festival in Europe celebrating art, design, and democracy. She grew up in Flint, Michigan and Cincinnati, Ohio, received her BFA from SCAD in Savannah, Georgia and Hong Kong, and now calls Seattle home, where she loves to hike, bike, and dance.
