Francesca Costa Méndez (she/her)

Francesca Costa works to streamline renewal processes across multiple safety net benefits for the Safety Net Innovation Lab. Francesca has worked to increase food security since 2008, first at the Ecology Center, based in Berkeley, and then on the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank’s CalFresh Outreach team. She has also served as core staff for the Benchmark Institute’s Food Assistance Skills Training. In 2017, she was honored as the Grassroots Mobilizer of the Year through Nourish California’s Freshy Awards. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Geography and American Studies from UC Berkeley.
