Juliette Cho (she/her)

  • Head of Philanthropy, Code for America

Juliette Hye-Young Cho is Code For America’s Head of Philanthropy. In her role, she works with and leads the Development Team to build innovative, strong and resilient philanthropic partnerships to fund CfA’s work of strengthening the benefit safety net and encouraging government innovation in tax, criminal justice and others areas, across the country.

Prior to joining CfA, she served as the Senior Director of Philanthropy at Benefits Data Trust (BDT) where she and her team were responsible for raising $35 million of philanthropic support to provide assistance to low-income benefit seekers. As a first-generation college attendee and graduate who was only able to do so because of FAFSA and other benefit programs, she is driven by a core belief that government can work for people – and a more equitable, safer and healthier future for all people in America is within grasp.

Her centering and roots are in the social good and nonprofit sector, leading her to serve in fundraising player/coach leadership roles at internationally recognized NGOs like Pencils of Promise, UNICEF, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the American Red Cross where she built donor programs that engage and include individual givers, corporations, institutions, grassroots and digital fundraising communities. She also served as the first female Vice President of Partnerships at Catchafire, a social good tech org that uses a network-based platform to connect nonprofits with highly skilled volunteers – helping grow its network of funders and clients from 15 engaged funders to over 120.

In her time away from work, Juliette is chasing her two sons with her husband around Philadelphia, listening to a good podcast, watching PBS documentaries and scheming of ways to meet and befriend Beyonce.
