Katie Sweeney (she/her)

Katie Sweeney is originally from the Bay Area and earned her B.A. in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz with a focus on legal advocacy. As a student, she founded and co-directed her university’s chapter of Camp Kesem, a non-profit summer camp that supports children through and beyond their parent’s cancer. Katie’s dedication to youth empowerment continued in New Orleans with Teach for America, as a Language Arts teacher and volleyball coach. She then completed her International Master of Fundraising, Cultural Philanthropy & Advancement at the Social Change School in Madrid, Spain while teaching at a local high school. Prior to joining Code for America, she led the development team for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis. Residing in Memphis, Tennessee with her husband and two pups, Katie enjoys playing guitar, singing, hot yoga, and traveling!
