Matthew Gerken

Matt is a Senior Data Scientist at Code for America. He values the role of evidence and data in improving people’s lives and communities. Prior to joining Code for America, he worked with the innovation and data strategy teams within DC Government, building data tools and partnering with agencies to improve construction permitting, hiring, and access to social determinants of health. He was also previously an affordable housing, homelessness, and community development policy researcher at the Urban Institute and received his MPP from Duke University. Matt lives with his partner and their many plants in Washington, DC.
