Rafael Santander (he/him)

Rafael Santander (He/Him) is a dynamic leader in the field of engineering, currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Code for America. With a strong focus on innovation, scale, trust, and community, Rafael has spearheaded the development of scalable and trusted platforms, including the groundbreaking Salesforce IoT, successful integrations of technologies like Tableau into Salesforce, and modernized Intuit’s Financial Data Services group developer experience.

Passionate about fostering community and embodying servant leadership, Rafael finds immense joy in his extensive volunteer work. Over the years, he has dedicated his time and energy to various causes, including AIDS/LifeCycle, Adaptive Ski programs, and SF Recreation and Parks, making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Beyond the professional realm, Rafael’s adventurous spirit thrives in the great outdoors. He eagerly embraces every opportunity for adventure, from skiing to buggy boarding. However, his ultimate happiness lies in the cherished moments spent with his loving family, which includes his incredible partner and their four-spirited children.

Rafael holds an MBA from UC Davis and a degree in Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
