Camara Cooper

  • Former Program Manager, Safety Net, Code for America

Camara (she/her), who also goes by Cam, is a proud Trinidadian-American and Brooklyn native joining Code for America as Program Manager of Insight & Impact.

She likes to help institutions and organizations design, implement and scale initiatives that advance social change—all to create a more joyful, equitable, safe world.

Before joining Code for America, she was a Program Officer on the Resource Acquisition & Management team at The International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development NGO. Prior to that, Camara spent several years managing a range of legal initiatives at New York City’s Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs.

Camara holds a BA in Political Science from Yale University. She enjoys learning languages, reading sci-fi, and watching horror films.
