Carmen Hicks (she/her)

Carmen is a native of Kansas, who currently calls Somerville, MA home. She is a graduate of Boston University (BA, political science, ’11) and Brandeis University (MPP, ’14), where she studied poverty alleviation and the impact of civic participation on low-income populations and populations of color.

She was named a Presidential Management Fellow in the Spring 2014, where she worked at the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the FHA commissioner. Most recently, Carmen was the product leader at Checkr.org, the social corporate responsibility division of Checkr, Inc. where she worked to expand their criminal record expungement and free background check platforms.
