Francesca Costa supports partnerships and growth strategies on Code for America’s GetCalFresh team, which focuses on improving the delivery of the food assistance program and closing the participation gap in California. Francesca has worked on food security issues since 2008, first at the Ecology Center, based in Berkeley, and then on the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank’s CalFresh Outreach team. She has also served as core staff for the Benchmark Institute’s Food Assistance Skills Trainings. In 2017, she was honored as the Grassroots Mobilizer of the Year through the California Food Policy Advocates’ Freshy Awards.” She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Geography and American Studies from UC Berkeley.”
