Melanie Gin (she/they)

Melanie Gin is a Solutions Engineering Associate Director on the Opportunity Accelerator team at Code for America. Melanie was previously a full-stack software engineer at Etsy, where they built scalable systems focused on machine translation, localization, and international search. Melanie has extensive experience in strategy and tech consulting (Deloitte Consulting and Elm Forest). In 2020, Melanie co-founded Makeen Initiative, a social enterprise providing tech education to young people in the West Bank and Gaza. Melanie is committed to weaving wellbeing and empathy into the fabric of individual and collective life. They currently live in Oakland, California, and enjoy cultivating wonder through meditation, art, and exploring.
