Michael Cowden (he/him)

Michael Cowden is the Senior Director of Solutions Engineering at Code for America, where he leads a team of technologists advising government stakeholders to find achievable human-centered solutions to challenges in the criminal legal and social safety net systems. He has been a member of several state task forces focused on automating the clearance of criminal records and as co-chair of the Technology Workgroup for Transform911. He’s currently leading the organization’s Solutions Engineering team on its Safety Net Innovation Lab effort to unlock over $30B in unclaimed benefits across 15 states.
