Summit 2023 Call for Proposals

From November 9–18, we want to hear your ideas for sessions at our next Summit

Code for America Summit is an event that’s by and for the government and civic tech community—it’s an opportunity for people from all over the field to share their knowledge with one another. We can’t wait for another opportunity to learn, skillshare, trade notes, and show what’s working at Summit 2023, happening in Washington, D.C. from May 16–17, 2023.

But before we get there, we need to hear from you. Our call for session proposals will be open from November 9–18, 2022. We welcome submissions from anyone whose work touches on civic innovation. Whether it’s about improving citizen engagement in a city’s budgeting process, sharing challenges and wins in diverse hiring, or a niche deep dive on procurement, all sessions should have one theme at the core: improving people’s lives through government and technology.

This year we are welcoming proposals for both one hour breakout sessions and five minute lightning talks. Submitting a session idea is easy.

This year’s Summit theme is: Showing what’s possible in a changing world. Presenting at Summit is a way for government leaders, community organizers, civic technologists, and others to share an interesting problem, increase visibility for their work, and spread good ideas.

Summit 2023 will be a two-day immersive experience in Washington D.C. bringing together public servants, technologists, organizers, and civic tech enthusiasts. This in-person time featuring keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities will allow us to think through some of the biggest challenges facing government and collaborate on solutions that work well for everyone.

We’re excited to welcome everyone back to Summit in just a few short months. Until then, we look forward to reading all the proposals about civic innovation happening across the country at every level of government and in every community. Visit the Summit website to review the guidelines and send in a proposal during the submission window open from November 9–18, 2022.
