Announcing Code for America Summit 2025
Civic tech is at a dynamic intersection: emerging technologies are changing the way we work, and innovative programs are tackling some of our biggest challenges. The past year has seen some major changes—including the pilot of the federal government’s free online tax filing option with Direct File; the arrival of AI on the scene in a major way; and the rollout of Summer EBT, the first new, permanent federal food assistance program in almost 50 years.
We’re at a defining moment where the civic tech community has proven that longstanding systems can be changed. We must keep pushing forward—not just to create better outcomes for everyone today, but to build a stronger, more resilient government for tomorrow.
That’s why the theme for Code for America Summit 2025 is: Designing for change, delivering for the future.
From May 29–30, 2025, we’re excited to welcome the civic tech and government innovation community to Washington, D.C., for two days of networking, knowledge sharing, and inspiration. Summit is always our favorite time of the year—because we get to see people come together from all over the country to make new connections or catch up with old ones.
Every year, Summit provides a space for government changemakers, civic technologists, community organizers, and more to come together and learn from one another. So whether you’ve got a passion for procurement, a dedication to digital delivery, or a fervor for federal technology policy, Summit is the place for you.
Check out this 2024 recap to get a sense of what you can expect at Summit.
Registration for Summit will launch in early 2025. You can check out our Summit website for event updates and sneak peeks of some of our content as the time for Summit draws closer.
If you want to share your knowledge at Summit, consider submitting a proposal for a breakout session, lightning talk, or webinar during our open call for proposals happening November 14-25, 2025. This year, we’re also accepting nominations for our Code for America Innovator Awards, which honor people or agencies in government and civic tech who are setting an example about how to deliver for the future. Celebrating the successes of this community is such a special part of the Summit experience, and we’re excited to hear what you have to share.
So pack your laptop and your sticky notes, print a few extra business cards, and get ready to connect with the civic tech community. We’re excited to welcome you (or welcome you back!) to Summit.
